Bar Ouverture Whisky Glasses

The Riedel Restaurant Ouverture Whisky Glass (0480/02) is the bar-format whisky tumbler from the Ouverture Restaurant range, designed for the same high-volume practical service conditions as the Ouverture Water Glass. At 430ml with a 100mm height and 80mm diameter, it is proportioned for a whisky serve over ice, a Scotch and water, or any spirit-and-mixer build where a sturdy, compact tumbler is the correct service format.

At 100mm tall with an 80mm diameter, the Ouverture Whisky is more compact than a standard rocks glass, which makes it efficient to store, rack in the dishwasher, and carry in service. The slightly larger capacity than the Water Glass (430ml vs 330ml) accommodates a double spirit serve with a single ice cube and a small quantity of water or mixer. Machine-made in lead-free crystal, certified for 1,500 commercial dishwasher cycles, sold in sets of 12.

Key features:

  • 430ml whisky tumbler capacity: Correctly sized for a double spirit serve (50ml) over one or two ice cubes with room for a splash of water or mixer
  • Compact 100mm height, 80mm diameter: Space-efficient proportions for high-density storage and racking; the slightly cropped profile makes it easier to handle in quantity
  • Sturdy, durable construction: Built for the handling demands of high-volume bar service
  • From the Ouverture Restaurant utilitarian range: Practical, durable, efficiently proportioned for professional service
  • Versatile for whisky, brandy, other spirits and mixers
  • 1,500-cycle dishwasher certification: EN 12875-1/2 certified
  • Set of 12, trade-only: Restaurant-format case quantity

What Restaurant Professionals Ask About This Product

How does the Ouverture Whisky compare to the Manhattan Double Old Fashioned?

The Manhattan Double Old Fashioned (0419/02) is 370ml at 97mm tall and 86mm diameter, designed for cocktail and spirit service in a classic rocks format. The Ouverture Whisky (0480/02) is 430ml at 100mm tall and 80mm diameter, designed for straightforward whisky and spirit service. The Ouverture format is narrower in diameter making it more efficient to store; the Manhattan format is more explicitly bar-oriented and versatile for cocktail use.

Is the Ouverture Whisky suitable for Old Fashioned cocktails?

It can be used for an Old Fashioned, but the Ouverture range is designed for practical high-volume service rather than cocktail-specific presentation. For operations where the Old Fashioned is a signature serve and the glass is part of the cocktail's presentation, the Drink Specific Rocks (0417/02) or Manhattan Double Old Fashioned (0419/02) are more appropriate choices.

What is the correct serve in the Ouverture Whisky?

A double spirit measure (50ml) with one or two ice cubes and a splash of water or mixer fills the glass to approximately one-third capacity, leaving adequate headspace. The 430ml capacity means the glass is never over-filled in any standard spirit serve format.

How many dishwasher cycles will this glass survive?

EN 12875-1/2 certified for 1,500 commercial dishwasher cycles, corresponding to 10+ years of normal restaurant service life.

The Professional Whisky Tumbler: Practicality Without Compromise

The whisky tumbler is the most straightforward brief in bar glassware: a vessel that holds a spirit serve over ice without spilling it, looks appropriate for the drink, and survives the conditions of active bar service with minimum fuss. The Ouverture Whisky delivers all three without asking for more attention than the job requires.

The practical dimensions, compact in diameter and slightly cropped in height, make the Ouverture Whisky efficient to rack in the dishwasher, easy to store in quantity, and comfortable to carry several at a time in service. For hotel minibars and room service where the whisky tumbler needs to be in every room and through the dishwasher every day, the compact format is a meaningful operational advantage.

For bars with a more considered whisky programme where the glass is part of the presentation, the Bar range and Drink Specific formats provide more specialist options. The Ouverture Whisky is the dependable professional baseline.

Deliveries currently suspended

Due to ongoing issues, we have had to suspend deliveries to mainland Europe and the Republic of Ireland. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Rest of the World

If your country is not listed - including the USA, Australia, and other destinations - this is most likely because couriers charge by volumetric weight: a combination of package size and weight that makes standard online rates impractical to calculate automatically.

Please call us on 01737 222682 with the details of your order and we will advise on shipping costs within 24 hours, then ask whether you would like to proceed.

Please note:

All overseas shipments are at your own risk. We recommend taking out appropriate transit insurance to cover any damage in transit.

Customs forms for all international packages declare the full value and a description of the contents. Any customs or import duties levied on arrival in your country are your responsibility. Your local customs office can provide further information.

Returns & Refunds

We hope your order arrives in perfect condition and that you love what you've chosen. If something isn't right - whether the item is unwanted, damaged, or develops a fault - we'll do our best to make the process as straightforward as possible.

You can reach us via our contact form or by calling 01737 222682. You'll be speaking to a member of our team based in our Surrey warehouse.

I want to return an unwanted item

Unwanted items can be returned for a no-quibble refund, provided they are in resaleable condition and in their original packaging. Our returns policy normally covers the 365 days following purchase - but if you're outside that window, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

Packing your return:

  • Wrap or box items appropriately to prevent damage in transit.
  • Do not stick labels or tape directly to the product's branded packaging - a damaged box means we can no longer accept the return.
  • The easiest method is to reuse the outer packing material and box we originally sent your order in.

If the product is not in fully resaleable condition, or the branded box is damaged, we will apply our half-price replacement guarantee and refund you half the original purchase price.

Return postage: Customers are responsible for the cost of returning items. We recommend using a recorded or signed-for service so the parcel is insured and trackable.

Items remain your responsibility until they arrive with us.

Alternatively, you can purchase a Royal Mail returns label here, from our parent company, Art of Living Cookshop.
