1. Account Eligibility
1.1 Trade accounts are available exclusively to UK-registered businesses operating in the hospitality, catering, or wine retail sectors.
1.2 Applicants must provide valid business registration details, including Companies House registration number and/or VAT registration number.
1.3 We reserve the right to approve or decline any trade account application at our discretion, without providing a reason.
1.4 Trade accounts are non-transferable and must only be used by the registered business.
1.5 You must notify us immediately of any changes to your business details, including change of ownership, address, or trading status.
2. Trade Pricing & Orders
2.1 Trade prices are displayed exclusively to approved trade account holders logged into their account.
2.2 All prices are quoted in GBP (£) and are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
2.3 We reserve the right to amend prices at any time without prior notice. Orders will be invoiced at the prices displayed at the time the order is placed.
2.4 Bulk order discounts may be available on request for orders exceeding £1,000.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Payment is required at the time of ordering via credit/debit card.
4. Delivery
4.1 Standard delivery is 5-7 working days from order confirmation.
4.2 Express delivery options are available at additional cost, subject to stock availability.
4.3 Free Delivery is to UK mainland addresses only. For Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland, or offshore locations, exttra delivery costs and timescales may apply.
4.4 You must inspect all deliveries immediately upon receipt. Any damage or shortages must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery.
5. Returns & Damaged Goods
5.1 Damaged Goods:
Items damaged in transit must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange collection and replacement or refund at no cost to you.
5.2 Incorrect Items:
If we send you incorrect items, notify us within 7 days and we will arrange collection and replacement at no cost to you.
5.3 Returns:
Unwanted items in original, unopened packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
5.4 All returns require prior authorisation. Contact us before returning any goods.
6. Product Information
6.1 While we make every effort to ensure product descriptions and specifications are accurate, we cannot guarantee that all information is error-free.
6.2 Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Actual products may vary slightly in appearance.
6.3 All Riedel glassware sold through The Riedel Shop is guaranteed authentic and sourced directly from Riedel.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 Our liability is limited to the replacement of faulty goods or refund of the purchase price.
7.2 We accept no liability for:
- Loss of business, profits, or revenue
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or failure to follow care instructions
- Breakages occurring after delivery
7.3 Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Dishwasher Safe Certification
8.1 All Riedel glassware is certified dishwasher-safe for commercial use, tested to withstand a minimum of 1,000 dishwasher cycles.
8.2 To maintain optimal clarity and longevity:
- Use appropriate commercial dishwasher settings
- Use quality detergent suitable for crystal glass
- Avoid overloading the dishwasher
- Allow adequate drying time
8.3 Damage caused by improper dishwashing, harsh chemicals, or unsuitable detergents is not covered under any warranty.
9. Product Availability
9.1 All products are subject to availability. While we make every effort to maintain stock levels, we cannot guarantee availability of all items at all times.
9.2 If an ordered item is out of stock, we will:
- Contact you within 2 working days
- Offer a suitable alternative, or
- Offer a refund or credit note
9.3 We reserve the right to discontinue products without notice, though we will endeavour to provide advance warning where possible.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 All product images, descriptions, and content on our website are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced without our written permission.
10.2 Riedel® is a registered trademark. Unauthorised use of the Riedel brand, logos, or imagery is prohibited.
11. Confidentiality
11.1 Trade pricing information is confidential and must not be disclosed to non-trade customers or competitors.
11.2 We will not disclose your business information to third parties except as required by law or for order fulfilment purposes.
12. Account Suspension & Termination
12.1 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your trade account if:
- You breach these terms and conditions
- Your payment history is unsatisfactory
- You provide false or misleading information
- Your business ceases trading or enters administration
12.2 Upon termination, all outstanding invoices become immediately due and payable.
12.3 You may close your trade account at any time by providing written notice, subject to settlement of any outstanding invoices.
13. Data Protection
13.1 We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
13.2 By opening a trade account, you consent to us processing your business and contact information for the purposes of:
- Order processing and fulfilment
- Account management
- Marketing communications (you may opt out at any time)
14. Force Majeure
14.1 We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God, extreme weather, or natural disasters
- War, terrorism, civil unrest
- Strikes or industrial action
- Supplier failures or transportation issues
- Government restrictions or legislation
15. Governing Law
15.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
15.2 Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. Amendments
16.1 We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
16.2 Amended terms will be posted on our website and will apply to all orders placed after the date of amendment.
16.3 Continued use of your trade account following amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
