Poison Apple Martini
Cocktail
Pale, sharp and a little bit wicked.
Vodka, cloudy apple juice and elderflower, shaken until icy and finished with a fan of green apple, straight from a witch's orchard.

Bartender's notes
Taste before you strain. Cloudy apple juice varies a lot in sweetness, so add a squeeze more lime if it tastes sweet, or a barspoon of elderflower liqueur if it tastes sharp. Use a crisp, tart green apple such as Granny Smith for the garnish, and brush the slices with a little lime juice to stop them browning.
This is a strong drink, at around 2.3 UK units each, so serve with care. Making several? Shake no more than two at a time, as a crowded shaker will not chill properly. For an alcohol-free version, shake 90 ml of cloudy apple juice with 20 ml of elderflower cordial and 15 ml of lime juice, then top with a splash of soda.
