Difficulty Easy

The Vampire's Kiss Martini is a fun Halloween cocktail recipe. It includes raspberry liqueur and champagne for a sparkling, blood-red Halloween treat. This elegant cocktail combines the richness of Chambord with the effervescence of champagne for a sophisticated party drink.

🧛 Elegant Simplicity: This cocktail looks impressive but takes just minutes to make. The sparkling champagne adds sophistication while the blood-red colour delivers the perfect Halloween drama!

Ingredients

For the Cocktail

  • 150ml raspberry liqueur (Chambord recommended)
  • 250ml vodka
  • 250ml sparkling wine / champagne
  • Ice

Red Sugar Rim

  • Granulated sugar
  • Red food colouring (a few drops)
  • Small resealable plastic bag
  • Extra raspberry liqueur for wetting rim

Method

Preparing the Red Sugar (Can be done ahead)

  1. Combine sugar and a few drops of red food colouring in a small resealable plastic bag.
  2. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until the colour is evenly distributed throughout the sugar.
  3. Spread the red sugar on a flat surface and allow to dry for 15-20 minutes before using.

Making the Cocktail

  1. On a small plate, spread out the red sugar. Wet the rim of a martini glass with raspberry liqueur and gently dab the top of the glass in the red sugar, coating the rim evenly.
  2. Pour the vodka and half of the raspberry liqueur into the glass (approximately 75ml of Chambord per glass).
  3. Top up with champagne or sparkling wine.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Expert Tips

Champagne Choice: Any dry sparkling wine works beautifully - you don't need expensive champagne. Prosecco or Cava are excellent alternatives that keep costs down for party quantities.

Perfect Sugar Rim: Wet only the outer edge of the rim for a cleaner presentation. This prevents sugar from falling into the drink and keeps the rim looking pristine.

Serving Temperature: Chill your glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before making the cocktails. Cold glasses keep the champagne fizzy longer and enhance the drinking experience.

Batch Preparation: Mix the vodka and raspberry liqueur ahead of time in a pitcher. Keep chilled in the fridge and just add champagne when serving. This makes it easy to serve multiple guests quickly.

Garnish Ideas: Add fresh raspberries or a twist of lemon peel for extra visual appeal. A single raspberry floating in the glass looks particularly elegant.

Glassware Matters: Use proper martini or coupe glasses for the best presentation. The wide rim shows off the red sugar beautifully and the shape concentrates the aromas.

🍾 Why Chambord? Chambord is a premium French raspberry liqueur with hints of vanilla and honey. Its deep colour and complex flavour make it perfect for this cocktail, but any quality raspberry liqueur will work.
