El Diablo Recipe

Prep time
   5 mins

El Diablo is essentially a tequila-based Moscow Mule, enhanced by a burst of rich, velvety black currant liqueur (crème de cassis). The cocktail’s sweetness is offset by the heat of the ginger beer, creating a refreshing crowd-pleaser. Skewer a lime wedge, a hunk of candied ginger, and a brandied cherry for the drink’s signature garnish.

  • 40ml Tequila

  • 15ml Creme de Cassis

  • 25ml Lime Juice

  • Ginger Beer

For the garnish
  • Lime wedge, candied ginger, brandy soaked cherry

  1. Combine all the ingredients, except the ginger beer, in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice until the shaker feels cold to the touch.
  2. Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass.
  3. Top up with ginger beer and drizzle a touch more Cassis over the top.
  4. Garnish
