AI and The Future of The Riedel Shop Blog
I've been playing around with various bits of AI over the past couple of months. And when my blown mind recovered from all the incredible things that I found it could do, I got to thinking about how I could use it to enhance your "Riedel Shop Experience".
One of the AI tools I've been exploring is NotebookLM by google. One of NotebookLM's features is Audio Overviews, which "condenses complex documents into a podcast-like format".
Basically, I uploaded an article that I had written and it gave it back as a very realistic podcast, of two "AI bots", who I've taken on as new AI staff members, CrAIg and LorrAIne, (see what I did there?) chatting (and enthusing) about it.
It also generated a summary, which went as follows:
This article from The Riedel Shop website provides a concise overview of six popular wine varietals:
- Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its structure and aging potential;
- Pinot Noir, a challenging-to-grow grape prized for its terroir expression;
- Zinfandel, a Californian heritage grape with a rich history;
- Chardonnay, a versatile grape capable of diverse styles;
- Sauvignon Blanc, renowned for its food pairing versatility; and
- Viognier, a full-bodied white with aromatic complexity.
Each varietal description highlights key characteristics, including origin, flavour profiles, and ideal food pairings, offering a helpful introduction for wine enthusiasts. The article also touches on the historical and cultural significance of each grape.
The "podcast" is below. You can either listen to it here or click the "Download Audio" button to save it for later.

Brilliant and very succinct -currently doing Level3WSET and it would be brilliant if AI could summarise the text book in this way !
