There's no doubt in my mind that Riedel's Vinum Sauvignon Blanc glass transforms even a humble example of the breed into something highly drinkable.
I am reminded of how Babette, who rarely drank wine of any colour, came to love Sauvignon Blanc. It happened at one of the training tasting events that Riedel do for us from time to time. The almost clear chilled wine was poured into the small tulip shaped Sauvignon bowl and as the trainer talked to us about the wine, the condensation stared to form on the outside of the glass.
I will never forget that experience of first smelling the lovely aromas that were coming off the wine…a very strong smell of both apple and elderflower which was quite intoxicating, and then the taste. Gone was the rather harsh acidity that I associated with Sauvignon Blanc and in came lots of fresh fruit, still light and dry but bursting with flavour.
What surprised me even more was the look on Babette's face. She had a look of surprise and delight on her face and to cut a long story short was a fan of the wine ever since.
Try it out, we take any risk out of it for you. If you don't agree with me, then we'll take them back and give you a refund!
